Property
Immovable property in Malta is transferred by virtue of a public deed, and it is the purchaser’s notary who safeguards the acquisition. From the promise of sale (konvenju) to the published deed, we examine and verify title, advise on the duty payable and the reliefs the law affords, obtain such permits as the parties may require, and see the transfer registered — so that the property you acquire is yours beyond question.
Succession & estates
A will is the one document that speaks when you no longer can. Our services include the drawing up of wills, unica charta wills among them. We establish the heirs to a succession, receive the declarations causa mortis by which an estate devolves on death, and guide the heirs through acceptance, partition, and the vesting of property in their names.
Family
Marriage, partnership, and family bring consequences best settled by design rather than by default. Our practice encompasses prenuptial agreements shaping the matrimonial regime, cohabitation agreements, personal separation and the liquidation of the community of acquests, the partition of jointly held property, and donations.
Commercial & lending
Credit is extended on the strength of security, and security over immovable property in Malta is constituted by notarial deed. We publish loan and facility deeds secured by general or special hypothec, constitutions of debt and suretyships, and the deeds by which companies acquire and dispose of immovable property.
Mandates & attestations
Formal proof, properly given. We draft general and special powers of attorney, receive affidavits and administer oaths in our capacity as Commissioners for Oaths, and certify true copies of original documents — by appointment, and usually without delay.
